Milestone parties have a particular problem: the room spans three generations and they do not want the same dinner. The grandparents want dal and rice done properly. The cousins want the chaat counter. The children want something without a single green thing in it.
We solve that with counters rather than compromise. A chaat station and a pasta station side by side will feed a seventy-year-old and a seven-year-old without either feeling like an afterthought, and both give people a reason to stand up and mingle instead of staying at their table.
We also plan the cake. Not the baking — the timing. It goes out when the light is right and the photographer is ready, and the dessert service follows it rather than competing with it.
